1. What is AI-generated
- All rooms made in the Nookly generator are created by an AI image model from your choices.
- The sample rooms, style gallery, lifestyle scenes and motion clips on this website were also made with AI image and video models, to show what the styles look like and how images can be used. People and places in those scenes are not real.
- Text on your image, such as a name plaque, is not AI-generated. It is typeset by your browser after the room is drawn, so it is always spelled exactly as you typed it.
2. How images are made
- Your room type, style preset, colour and optional extras are checked against our content rules.
- They are combined into a written instruction and sent to an image model provided by a third-party AI provider, or matched from the Nookly render library of rooms we generated earlier with the same presets. The result page says which.
- Your browser finishes the image: removing the background when needed, sizing it, adding your plaque and, on the Free plan, a watermark.
- Machine-readable AI labels are written into the file before you download it.
3. How images are labelled
Inside the file (machine-readable)
- An XMP metadata packet with the IPTC property
Iptc4xmpExt:DigitalSourceTypeset tohttp://cv.iptc.org/newscodes/digitalsourcetype/trainedAlgorithmicMedia, the industry-standard code for media created by a trained AI model. - A plain-language description and credit line stating the image is AI-generated and made with Nookly, plus PNG text fields (“Source: AI-generated”).
On screen (visible)
- Every result is shown with an “AI-generated” tag and an explanation next to the download button.
- Free-plan images carry a visible “Made with Nookly · AI-generated” badge.
- Sample images across the website are marked as AI-generated.
We do these things to meet transparency rules for AI-generated content, including Article 50 of the EU Artificial Intelligence Act, which requires AI-generated images to be marked in a machine-readable, detectable format. As industry standards for content credentials (such as C2PA) mature, we plan to add them too.
4. What we ask of you
- Please keep the metadata in files you share.
- If you publish an image somewhere people might think it is a photograph or hand-made artwork, say that it is AI-generated.
- Metadata can be stripped by some apps and social networks when you upload. That's not something we control, which is why the visible note matters.
5. Limits of AI images
AI images can contain oddities: impossible furniture, mismatched shadows or objects that don't quite make sense. They are illustrations, not accurate floor plans, measurements, or depictions of any real product. Please don't rely on them for design, building or buying decisions.
6. Your data and training
We don't use the text you enter or the images you make to train AI models, and we don't allow our AI provider to use them for training. See the Privacy Policy.
